About the art

Raleigh is thriving and we do what we can to support it. I frequent the music venues and festivals. My wife loves the local bakeries. Most of the art I do these days is a tribute to one or the other.

Some of my pieces are of musicians that I have played with here in North Carolina. Others are bands or musicians I have seen in New Orleans or at local festivals like Hopscotch and Wide Open Bluegrass and at Bars like Slims Downtown.

Most are made of wood. I paint on boards, and wood scraps that I find around our, constantly-under-construction neighborhood, near downtown Raleigh. I fasten everything together using bolts, pipe fittings and nails. I like the rough surfaces and edges. The durability of the final pieces reflect the personality of the music that I love and the people who play it.
