Killing The Blues

Killing The Blues, The Design

My design tribute to the song, Killing The Blues. This design is based on my folk art pieces that I make for songs like this. My folk art is made using rough cut funky blocks of wood. Colorful and offbeat. Handpainted and hand-lettered. I adapted the folk art piece to a design for T-shirts. Click here to see it and buy it if you like it.

Killing The Blues, The Song

The song, Killing the Blues, was written by ROWLAND SALLEY and covered by John Prine and more recently by Robert Plant and Allison Krauss. Below is a video of me playing the song, along with the Chords and lyrics I use when I play the song. I made a few small changes to the original to get things to fit for myself. Let me know what you think.

A
Leaves were falling just like embers
D
In colors red and gold they set us on fire
A
Burning just like a moonbeam ..in our eyes

Chorus:
E
Somebody said they saw me
D
Swinging the world by the tail
A
Bouncing over a white cloud.
E A
Killing the Blues

A
I am guilty of something
D
I hope you never do because there is nothing
A
Sadder than losing .. yourself in the blues

(Repeat Chorus)

A
Now, you ask me Just to leave you
D
To go out on my own and get what I need to
A
You want me to find what I've already had
